EU boards tanker, but cannot seize

The EU can verify the tanker’s disputed Cameroon registration at sea and deny it ports, insurance and banking on land; turning that evidence into a seizure still requires flag-state cooperation and court proceedings.
Danube drought strips Hungary of 2 GW
Paks supplies roughly half of Hungary’s electricity, but its cooling pumps lost access to the shrinking Danube. Romania has already stopped one Cernavodă reactor and is using temporary barges to protect the other, leaving industry exposed to power cuts, soaring prices and a deeper question over whether river-cooled nuclear capacity can still be treated as reliably available.

Europe’s AI labels are now law
Chatbots must disclose themselves at first contact, while realistic synthetic media and some AI-written public-interest content require clear labels. Violations can cost €15 million or 3% of global turnover, but enforcement remains uneven and technical safeguards are still maturing. Older generative systems have until 2 December to add machine-readable origin markings.
